Annie's New Bed

Annie's room was becoming overstuffed with Barbies, crayons, paper, stuffed animals, numerous Christmas and other birthday toys. It was to the point where even after she cleaned it, it still seemed messy - mostly in part to the lack of space on her floor to organize things well. Maybe it was just me (because I have an unnatural need for things to be in a specific spot and not just thrown together), but it made me feel "blah' just to be in there. I decided Annie's room was in serious need of a makeover.

Dane informed me that I could do whatever I wanted but he wanted me to handle it on my own. This was probably a good idea on his part because we argue when we work together. So, with Annie's permission and some help from Big Dane, we built her a loft bed. Her room has all kinds of new space and I LOVE IT. There's a good possibility I like it more than Annie... but I'm pretty sure she's okay with it too.

Obviously Deucey was incredibly helpful.

Molars

Annie: My mouth hurts when I chew.
Me: Why?
Annie: Because my 12 year older teeth are coming in.
Me: They're called molars.
Annie: Well, whatever they're called they hurt.

Brain Waves

Annie: It's hard to see them... a boy's brain waves.

(Yes, yes it is Annie.)

Sneak Attack

Dane went to pick up Jarad after his drive up from Louisiana. Annie didn't want to go but the minute he left she started asking when he would be back. I told her it would be about an hour. She immediately asked if she could go outside. After about 20 minutes I checked outside to see what she was doing all by herself. This is what I found.

After about another 10 minutes she came back inside wanting to know if it had been an hour yet. When I told her no she went back outside for about 5 more minutes. This time when she came in I finally asked what she was doing. I was informed that she was waiting for Dane to get back so she could hit his car with the biggest ice ball she found. I hope you know I didn't stop her.

Christmas Cookies

Annie and I made Christmas cookies together this year. I forgot to get a picture of the final product before we packed them all up but they covered the table and the kitchen counter.

(This one is approximately 3 seconds after I warned her to turn the mixer on slowly.)

Hippopotamus

The Scene: Dane giving Annie a bath. He's setting up her shampoo and soap on the edge of the tub.

Annie: What in the hippopotamus are you DOING?

Sent Home From School

Dane got a call today that Annie had a fever of 103 degrees and she needed to come home from school. She seemed fine this morning so when I got home I was asking her about it. It went something like this:

Me: Annie, how did the teacher know you had a fever?
Annie: Because some girl told her I was crying.
Me: Were you?
Annie: No.
Me: Then why did she say that?
Annie: Because there was water coming out of my eyes.
